Relic Wonders
The
Buddha's relics and relics of his disciples or dhatu are valuable
and are looked after by devas. They can themselves show wonders
such as increasing and decreasing themselves, lightening, shining
in the dark, flying around the container, flying thru the air in
all directions and transforming themselves to various shape etc.
The
transformation of relics is something wonderful because the normal
bones or cremated bones could be transformed to be crystal or to
be the other shapes which are colourful. Some are like gravel and
some are like glass and not only bones could be transformed but
also nails, teeth or even their chewed refuse betels could also
be transformed into relics.
There
are several monks nowadays whose bones could be transformed into
relics and their relics are plenty. Their relics also can show wonders
such as increasing and decreasing themselves, lightening, shining
in the dark etc. This is a confirmation of wonder showing that even
the normal bones of the present monks could be transformed into
relics, so the Buddha's relics and his disciples relics could be
more wonderful things.
Characteristics
of the transformed relics
The
transformation of relics from any parts was described step by step
by Khunying Sureephan Maneewat as follows:
To transform
from dust cremated bone to be relic |
Ash relics of
Ven. Kong Candavangso,
Wat Sramonthol, Ayuddhaya |
|
1.
dust cremated bone (ash) |
|
2.
the arising of little spots like fish roe in light gray colour |
|
3.
those fish roe get bigger in dark gray colour |
|
4.
the dark gray colour gets as lighter as white and the size
of relics is bigger |
|
5.
the relics get more complete into the corn seed shape |
To transform
from bone to be relic |

Bone
and relics of
Ven. Kheng Ghosadhammo
Wat Pa Sripanom Sakonnakorn |
|
|
1.
natural bone |
|
2.
natural bone transformed into relic can be separated into
2 characters |
|
|
2.1
the bone which has a lot of holes like bubble bone. Those
holes get shrunk and gather to be crystal . Some parts still
remain in bubble. |
|
|
2.2
the bone which is in a long shape. The pellicle stripe which
is seen as the thin line along the bone will be transformed
to be relics as crystal then that crystal will be expanded
until it is the full bone. |
|
3.
the condition to be approached like relic |
|
|
3.1
this condition of relic was transformed as described in 2.1
. The crystal parts will be more of limestone with less of
bubbles. The shape is getting curved, round or in corn seed
shape. We will see only a little bit of bubble on itself |
|
|
3.2
this condition always remains in the original bone shape by
transforming as in 2.2. The pellicle stripe which held tight
to be limestone crystal will be full with almost no space
available in each hole of the bone. The skin of normal bone
will cover only 10% - 20% of the whole piece |
|
4.
To be as completed relic |
To transform
from hair to be relic |
Disposed hair become relic of
Ven. Sanan Rakkhitasilo
Wat Pa Sookasemniraspai,
Sakon Nakorn |
|
1.
natural hair |
|
2.
natural hair stretches itself and gathers together as a mass |
|
3.
that mass gets together as a lump |
|
4.
that lump gets to be in the condition of a relic and the colour
has changed into browish |
|
5.
to be as completed relic in the browish or cream colour |
Moreover, the
transformation of relics can be noticed in 2 characteristics by
other people other than the the record of Khunying Sureephan Maneewat
as follows:
The arising
of relic during cremation |
Relics of
Ven. Sanguan Kosago
Wat Arwutvikasitaram, Bangkok |
|
1.
normal condition of dead body during cremation |
|
2.
the shiny material drip out of the body |
|
3.
when contacting with the container, those drips will roll
and scatter into various sizes |
|
4.
to be as completed relic |
Note:
this case is recorded by only 2 person : Ven.
Sa-nguan Kosago and a church lady, Ms.
Boonreon Tongboonterm. |
The
other character which has been found alot is the coming of relics
to be together with the bone, amulet or statue of that arahant.
We may call this case a wonder case.
The arising of
relics whilst that arahant is still alive
Finding
the relic arising when the Buddha's disciple is still alive. There
was an eyewitness case of Ven. Wan Sujinno when he was in a knee
operation and the doctor found his knee had already transformed
into relic.

that arahant is still alive: |
